A digital food imaging system allows images to be produced directly onto baked goods

Printhead can produce images on baked goods

Spectra, Inc. and Sensient Technologies Corporation team demonstrate a unique non-impact digital food imaging system. The Apollo JetXpress is a laboratory design and development system for food decoration using Spectra digital imaging technologies.JetXpress is comprised of an integrated transport device and a 4-color imaging assembly, jetting Sensient food grade colorants to produce full color images directly onto porous baked goods and other food products. The JetXpress has a small footprint and is completely self-contained. Sensient Imaging Technologies - a division of Sensient Technologies - is a Spectra Approved Ink Partner.Using the JetXpress, decorative features such as photos, text and logotypes or various combinations can be imaged directly onto relatively flat-surfaced food products. Images can be repeated time and again or varied, surface to surface. Companies can produce as many or as few units as needed to test new markets, new concepts and new product designs both efficiently and economically.
