Self inflating motorcycle tyres

The large manufacturer of Pirelli tires joined Brembo (Italy), specialist in the brake, to develop a system of surer tire for the motor bikes . It consists of three components:
  • The rim contains an internal tube in which air is.
  • A valve controls the passage of the pressure between the tube and the tire.
  • A "Bike X-Presses System" controls the pressure and the temperature of the tires.
The inspecting device measures the pressure and the temperature of the tires and detects the falls of pressure, by holding account of the losses related to a change of temperature, and the valve orders which releases the compressed air necessary to compensate. Under normal conditions, a tire loses 0.2 bar every 3 months and equipment can be effective for one period of 9 - 12 months. In the event of puncture, the system supplies the tire so as to make it possible the driver to park itself in full safety.
