World's First Solar Lamp Post

The new solar-powered Spiritlighting column can harvest electricity during the day to light up the streets at night. The studio behind the design, Kaal Masten, says the light post can be entirely powered by the sun, and it doesn’t have to be connected to the grid – so it could bring street lighting to areas without access to electricity.

Kaal Masten‘s solar lamp post can reach up to 18 meters in height, and the modular design can be tailor-made to suit a variety of environments and lighting needs. Masten say that Spirit is the most sustainable form of public lighting available.
