New oxygen absorption system for PET bottles

The ActivSeal® system is based on basic chemistry:
Hydrogen + oxygen + catalyst = water

Minute amounts of the catalyst are present in the container wall. A hydrogen activator is built into the closure. Once the container is full and the closure applied, hydrogen is released. As oxygen enters through the container wall, it binds with the hydrogen on the surface of the catalyst to form nano-particles of odourless and tasteless water. Thus oxygen is prevented from entering the container’s contents. As long as moisture is present, the hydrogen activator will not degrade and hydrogen will be released. Simple – but extremely effective.
