Robotic octopus tentacle
Scientists have developed a robotic version of an octopus tentacle. The goal is to create a complete underwater octobot. Discovery News reports that the robotic tentacle is part of a larger project funded by the European Commission to create a functional full-body octopus robot. The octobot could help with underwater exploration and and perhaps underwater rescues. The robotic tentacle could even be used for surgical procedures.
