Plane flies without using control flaps

Flapless Flight

He Eclipse Unmanned Air Vehicle is the first plane to fly without the aid of control flaps (elevators and ailerons) - it just uses directed jets of air.

By eliminating moving parts the UAV eliminates frequent, costly repairs and reduces the noise they produce.

The plane's path is controlled by jets of air from a nozzle over Coanda surfaces installed across the wing.
