EDAG Light Car windshield acts as an interactive sign board
The EDAG "Light Car-Open Source," is a new electric car that has been unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show. The car is an all electric vehicle with a lithium-ion battery pack and a range of around 150km and all-wheel electric drive. The motors are packed inside the wheels; however, this creates efficiencies thanks to less power loss in a centralized drive-train. And the vehicle makes use of some unusual materials in its construction the lithium-ion powered compact car utilizes in-wheel motors that help maximize interior space. The (O)LED technology is used to show trailing vehicles not only the LCOS' strength of braking, but also road conditions ahead, a pedestrian crossing the road, say, or whether there's a speed or construction zone ahead. This new lighting system is an all new way forward for vehicle safety and car-to-car communications.
