Breakable plastic ampoules
Users of classic fragile glass ampoules run the risk of piercing orcutting themselves. Moreover, thesteps for the sealing of such ampoules (heating, deformation) duringthe manufacturing process is very complex.
To avoid such problems, the French company Seriplast created fragileampoules (1.5-11 ml) of plastic for the pharmaceutical andpara-pharmaceutical sector. The chosen material is a transparent PP.
The body of the vial is opened on the opposite side of the head andafter filling is sealed with a cap. Between the body and the head is a thin area (0.1 mm) which makes it easier to break theampoule and remove the contents.
