Foldable electric bicycle

Grasshopper is a foldable electric bicycle that turns into a trolleyfor easy transport. The use of composite materials provide rigidity andstrength. The aim of the design is to satisfy those who like to bicyclein normal everyday life but live in places/cities where theconfiguration of the terrain is too severe (cough: hills). The targetmarket is mainly composed of active people with environmental concernsand health concerns who live in urban centres, plus people who livenomadic lifestyles.

The battery charges thru regenerative braking and thru stationarybicycling. Yes you read right, this bike can turn into a stationaryexercise bike. Designer David Goncalves entered his design in the 200812th International Bicycle Design Competition winning a Merit Prize.
