Martyr Lamp

Another bit of fun. Is this lamp called 'martyr' because it's got its tail/phallus stuck in the socket or because it's engaged in a sisyphean attempt to unsocket itself? Beats the nightlights my mom used to try and allay my fears of the dark with. At least this would have made me laugh at its futile efforts.
