Printed solar cells

Ordinary solar cells are pretty complicatedtechnology, even though the theories behind them are reasonably simple. They will also be expensive since the manufacture gets pretty much ascomplicated as the tech. Now, however, a couple of companies havepresented ideas for the manufacture of solar cells that in principlemeans that they can be printed on a thin metal film. Since manufacturewith the printing method would resemble an ordinary printing press, thecost could be a tenth of what is the case today, and they could makesolar energy available to more, and cheaper than fossil fuels. One ofthe companies is American Nanosolar, who recently were awarded Innovation of the year by Popular Science magazine.
