Morphable robot face
A sophisticated robotic face can express a wide range of expressions, and even transform itself to look like anyone. The WD-2 robot created by researchers at Tokyo University is amalleable face mask with rear projection. The mask changes shape tomatch a face, then the projector handles all the details of appearanceand expression. The robot face has "17 facial points, for a total of 56degrees of freedom" and is made with a "highly elastic and rigidmaterial called Septom, with bits of steel wool mixed in for addedstrength."
