Element - heating using light bulb

It is usually hard to tell whether radiators are on or off except by laying a hand upon them. This prototype is made out of glass, metal and enough light bulbs to reach the same efficiency as an electric radiator, and the current energy level is visible at all times.

If your house is heated by direct electrically heating you might notbe aware of the tremendous amount on energy consumed. Radiative heaterscontain a heating element that reaches a high temperature. Usuallypackaged with a reflector inside a glass envelope, the inside of theseheaters resemble a light bulb, emitting infrared radiation that travelsthrough the air, heating you house. The "Element" uses traditional,incandescent light bulbs to produce the energy that would normally beproduced by your heater. Emitting light as it heats, it becomes a focalpoint in the home. Open the window on a cold day and it needs to workharder to maintain the heat of the room; all the while glaring at youas it reaches its highest energy use.
