Electricity is overrated. What we really need to start using to power the world is mud, and we'll start with this Mud Clock. Simply plant your favorite substance in the pot, insert the clock components into the soil, and watch the magic happen. Developed at Middlesex University in the UK, there's some science behind this that mostly comes off as a cool (if sort of slow) gag. We're not going to tell you how it works, but we will suggest that you probably shouldn't plan on charging your cell phone with mud anytime soon.
